Why in Spain, why Madrid

On October 17, our president and CEO, Javier Cárdenas, participated in the Madrid Capital Forum of Ibero-American Internationalization as a representative and leader in the Latin American business community. The event brought together company presidents, business families, investors, and family offices from Spain and Latin America to explore the investment opportunities available in the Spanish capital, serving as a bridge between Latin America and Europe.

Núria Vilanova, president of CEAPI, emphasized that Madrid has all the necessary attributes to become the global capital of Ibero-American investment. She urged the European Union not to overlook Latin America, as the region has much to offer despite uncertainties.

When asked by Ana Botella, the panel moderator, about the benefits of investing in Madrid, Luis Amodio, president of OHLA (Mexico), highlighted factors such as cultural affinity, legal security, and development prospects.

Dionisio Gutiérrez, president of the Libertad y Desarrollo Foundation (Guatemala), underscored Madrid’s potential and urged a thorough analysis of its environment and complexities to achieve optimal results, emphasizing the emergence of a new digital order in today’s world.

At the Forum, notable figures from the Latin American business sector, including Javier Cárdenas, president of Rhino Equipment; Luis Amodio, president of OHLA; Dionisio Gutiérrez, president of Fundación Libertad y Desarrollo; and Borja Escalada, CEO of RLH Properties, shared insights.

Political Presence and Economic Impact

In addition prominent figures from the institutional and political spheres, such as former Madrid mayor Ana Botella; Community of Madrid President Isabel Díaz Ayuso; Javier Fernández-Lasquetty, Minister of Economy, Finance, and Employment of the Community of Madrid; and David Pérez García, Minister of Transport of Madrid, were present.

The capital of Spain attracted 21,850 million euros in foreign investment last year, a figure comparable to that of Mexico, Chile, and Colombia combined. This edition of the Forum aims to foster trust, strengthen strategic links between Ibero-American businessmen and investors, and encourage co-investment between Spain and Latin America. Madrid serves as an ideal setting to enhance ties between multi-Ibero-American companies
